CamEra is an innovative initiative of banglanatak dot com (www.banglanatak.com) to engage youth to heritage, thru their lenses and also to reach out to common man thru holding public place exhibition. In Jun 2013, we did it at Kolkata, where 357 young photographers registered, 100 photographers exhibited at Public Place Exhibition held at 20 places across the city, which was attended by over 72000 people. Then, based on people’s feedback and experts’ opinion, we selected 30 photographers who exhibited at 6 galleries. The top 50 photos were exhibited at Sufi Sutra, India’s largest public place International Music Festival on Sufi and Traditional Music, held at Kolkata in Feb. West Bengal Tourism selected best 100 photos for promoting heritages of Bengal. Seeing the success we took CamEra to Bhubaneswar and it was a major hit.
