Ours is a turbo charged work environment where passion runs high. We are an equal opportunity workplace and summarily apolitical. Here roles are offered with no cap on one’s ability to own responsibilities and demonstrate leadership capability. Candidates should be ready to travel and may be required to stay at project locations for a short duration

One Story at a Time: Ending Gender-Based Violence

One Story At A Time: Ending Gender-Based Violence is an initiative to develop short videos by young professionals on different aspects of gender-based violence. A five-day workshop on digital storytelling was held at the American Center in Kolkata from 16 to 20 April, 2018. There were 19 participants from India and five from Bangladesh. The Indian participants were from the states of Assam, Jharkhand, Nagaland and West Bengal. Prior to the workshop, the participants attended two webinars and took part in a virtual interaction with Amy Hill Lenita of Story Center, the facilitator of the workshop. Between the webinars and the workshop, the participants also shared their stories with Amy and communicated with her through email. During the workshop all the 24 participants developed a film each on gender issues which they had come across in their own lives or lives of their acquaintances. Between May and August the participants made necessary changes on the draft videos and uploaded on the WeVideo software. The participants were tutored to edit their videos on WeVideo. They edited their videos over the next few months with our assistance. Subtitles were added to their films with the help of the facilitators. The team also worked with the participants in selecting music. The participants also started working on the scripts of the 8 zonal films (two from each zone) and shared with the facilitators. Story boards were made for the films and shared with the participants. The zonal films were shot during August and September and were uploaded on WeVideo. All the necessary post production work was done by the 3rd week of September. Ending Gender-based Violence – One Story at a Time film festival was organized on September 28, 2018. The festival was attended by around 450 people.

The Best Film was awarded to Sanjukta Sarkar from Kolkata for her film EGGS. The Runner-Up award was shared by Tasnia Khandaker from Bangladesh for My Name, His Identity and Santu Guchait from Kolkata for Ulfa (Vault). The Special Mention award was also shared by Ibtesham Sreen from Jharkhand for Reaching for Dreams and Vinotoli Chisi from Nagaland for Daughter – Human or Property. Team West Bengal won the Best Zonal Film award for Pink and Blue. The participants involved in making of the film were Antara Raychaudhuri, Mandira Banerjee, Olivia Mondal, Palak Chokhani, Rahool Goswami and Santu Guchait.
